TOPIC: Annual Federal Update 2026

OBJECTIVES: 2026 Tax Update 

Review all the new items for 2026 from OB3, the items that went away from TCJA at the end of 2025, the new forms, changes to inflation-adjusted numbers for 2026 and 2027, IRS guidance that has been published during 2026 and, of course, anything new that hit the streets between now and then and after the midterm elections :
A detailed look and case studies of OB3 items for individual returns.
A detailed look and case studies of OB3 items for business returns.
A review of recent important court cases, especially those involving TCJA as they are just now making their way to court.
Review of new and changed forms for 2026 - including how reporting of overtime and tips deductions will appear.

PRESENTER: Kathy Morgan, EA   

Kathy retired in 2018 after 25  years with H&R Block and started her own practice, Puzzled By Taxes, LLC.  She has been a tax CPE instructor for National and State level organizations, including NATP, NAEA, Tax Practice Pro, and Webce.com, around the country for the last 13 years. Her prior careers as a USAF military police officer and as a police communications officer for the Bossier City Police give her a wide variety of experience that translate into tax issues. She proudly holds the titles of Enrolled Agent and United States Tax Court Practitioner. She has been published by several tax research companies, including Parker Tax Publishing, The EA Journal, NATP Tax Journal and TaxConnections.com. She is an accomplished speaker and instructor on a wide variety of tax issues and teaches both live and via webinar. Kathy lives and practices in the Shreveport, Louisiana area and when not "talking tax" she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and family, writing, and reading.
